Rotorua full of Christmas spirit

With no end to the rain, it was a perfect day to play bridge in Rotorua!

Top Honours went to Herman and Yuzhong who had a huge morning wth 67% and did enough in the afternoon to be the overall winners.

Yuzhong made his first victory speech with aplomb.  Not easy when English is your second language.  Then he donated his winnings of this huge ham to Lynne Boyack (Huntly and Cambridge member) who had teased him earlier. She was absolutely thrilled with his generous gesture.

We also had third place winners to applaud.  Well done to Kate and Gwyn who had an average morning but a stunning afternoon and finished 3rd overall.  They both won hams for their respective households of one! They were grateful that the second place winners were willing to swap their hams for a bottle of Moet each!

Congratulations to Eunice and Malcolm who not only finished a creditable 19th out of the field of 66 but also won the new prize of best non-Open pairing.

Kevin and Clare headed a session in the morning and took home a prize for coming 13th overall.
