Notice of Annual General Meeting

The AGM is to be held on 6th December 2021 at 7pm on Zoom but the prize giving will be next year – possibly as a “start” to the year.

There are some committee members who are not standing again for the 2022 year.  All members have the right to nominate a member to the committee should they wish to do so.

Subscriptions and table money will remain the same in 2022.

Babich Results

On Friday night we hosted a RealBridge session in the New Zealand Wide Babich Event. Michael directed and was then ably assisted by Anna to produce the results for the country. A great night was enjoyed by our 7 tables of keen attendees.

Congratulations to Clare Coles and Kevin Whyte who came 25th out of 750 pairs! What a super result!

We had 3 other pairs in the top 200. Pam and Ian Moore at 146th, Kate and Gwyn in 151st place and Vicki and Liz sneaking in there in 193rd place.

Week 45 on RealBridge - A Huge Thanks to Michael Neels

Michael has been instrumental in guiding Cambridge Bridge Club into an opportunity to play online bridge. He has set us up to be able to play all our usual sessions at home with less than half a dozen clicks! In the last 10 days he enabled us to play 6 club sessions and directed us through them, allowing us to see and chat with our club mates after such an extensive break. Michael is now in the process of helping to support a few more directors to lighten his load. Thank you Mike for all the hours you have put into this venture.

Realbridge Trailblazers

What a wonderful turnout to the first Realbridge session for our club! 18 pairs logged in at 7pm last night to play session 2 of The Boat Race. They played 16 boards and finished up by 9pm.Thank you to Michael who directed the play, ensured that the scoring worked and orchestrated the event.

Congratulations Pam Simmons and Mary on your win, Joy and John second and Michael Chick and Tony in third place. Also a super result for Kate and Gwyn with a raw score of 67%. Thanks to Sally and Kate from Te Awamutu for standing in as hosts.

RealBridge

Come and play bridge again! RealBridge!

RealBridge is a truly interactive online version of bridge which is as close to the Real thing as you can get. We are hoping to resume Cambridge Bridge Club sessions through this online platform.

Attendance and Vaccination

Unfortunately we are not able to open the Bridge club yet but here's hoping it is not too much longer before we can.

We want all members to be vaccinated before returning to keep you and everyone else safe.Your safety and well being are our main priority at all times.

If you have not yet had yours there are six GP practices in Cambridge and the Community Marae on Bracken St that are vaccinating. If you need transport or a support person we can help. Please don't hesitate to ring me.
