Lesson 6 is about RESPONDERS REBIDS - the 4th bid of the auction.

As RESPONDER this is your second bid and you have three choices:

  1. Give preference to one of your partners suits
  2. Bid NT with no fit and strength in the unbid suits
  3. Rebid your own 6+ card suit

 

When doing this you show your partner your POINT COUNT

  • 6 - 9 points: Minimum level. Call 1NT or show support for partner at the 2 level after you have bid other suits
  • 10 - 12 points: Close to game level. Bid 2NT or show support for partner at the three level after you have bid other suits
  • 13+ points: Game hand! Bid game in 3NT or support partners suit at the 4 or 5 level.

 

REMEMBER that the third bid (OPENERS REBID) will tell you how many points they have and you can add the points together and respond accordingly with your bid.

Your homework in your booklet will reinforce all this so REMEMBER to do your HOMEWORK!!!
