21 tables at the CB WAPs

Saty and calum

It was wonderful to see the room full of enthusiastic bridge players in Cambridge today. Thank goodness for the bad weather as it made a day at the bridge table in the relative cool so much more appealing at this time of year! Thank you to all our generous members bringing plenty of delicious food for our guests to enjoy.

And there was some CB success too. Congratulations to Mike and Ella who came top of the room with 66% in the morning winning an A point and coming 2nd overall for the day. They are really finding their stride before their big appearance at the Gold Coast Congress later on this month.

It was also a delight to see Calum and Saty win the best non-Open prize. Fabulous achievement for a relative new pairing.

It was many players' first crack at the WAPs and they were each rewarded with a small chocolate; this was a nice touch from our director, Dallas Dagg.

Well done to the winners, Christine and Jenna Gibbons, a mother - daughter partnership who play for NZ.  Barry Jones and Jenny Millington came third; they both featured in the Baden Wilson list for 2017. Also in the top 10 from CB was Anne Blewden at her inaugural appearance in this competition.
