Cambridge comes 2nd in Waikato Interclub!

Well done to the Cambridge team who came second overall in the Interclub to Waikato club (who have deservedly won the event for a number of years).

It must have been the lovely blue scarves that Irenee helped purchase the material and Beth made into beautiful garments for us that spurred the team into action. The format was designed to finish the day by 4.30pm so we played multi team format meaning that we played 3-4 boards at each table so played a total of 6 or eight boards against each club over the day, 48 boards in all. 

It is often the case, it was the success of the Juniors and Intermediates that determined the overall placing.  The !Juniors were our stars of the day/  They did particularly well finding all the right places and scored big results both morning and afternoon, leaving them second overall in the Junior section. This means we finally have a team in the final in August when it is played in Cambridge (Michael - we listened to your plea!).

The Intermediates and Open players played steadily and finished more in the middle of the pack, both coming in 4th. 

Most importantly we all had a lovely day and I never heard a cross word. Thank you everyone.
