Fairlands Trophy 2020

This afternoon saw the annual Fairlands battle contested between Te Awamutu and Cambridge. The new Club Captain for Te Awamutu, Debz Morris, had done a grand job of rounding up the troops. With 10 pairs from each club in a tournament that has been running since 1988, tensions were high. Actually the mood was most convivial and our visitors were just lovely to play against.

Cambridge came through with the win! Congratulations to all the Cambridge players who achieved a collective score of 530%against Te Awamutu's 469%. A special mention to Kate and Clare who managed a top score of 68%. Great playing!

Thank you to everyone who provided the delicious afternoon tea. And a BIG thanks to Michael for Directing, Scoring, Dealing and sorting things in the kitchen. We really appreciate you giving up your afternoon.

Congratulations Cambridge!!! (The trophy's at the jewellers!)
