Martin Steiner - the winner of the Intermediate championship, followed by Irenee Stewart then Verena Steiner.

The Intermediate results required an adjustment for any session played by an Intermediate with an Open player which meant Josie moved to 4th.  After the 5 sessions there were 11 eligible Intermediate players to win but in total 18 eligible players had taken part in the series.

Eight tables turned out and were ably directed by Director Nick Cantlon of Te Awamutu. There was just one session set in which all met all during the day. Congratulations to the winners Sara Worth and Judy Burchall all the way from Auckland. Runners-up wereJenny Elgar and Janet Milbank from Whakatane; Mike Everard and Jo Millington came third. Best Cambridge pair were Steve Hunt and Bill Bailey at fourth while Ailsa Henderson and Jan Watts cam sixth.

Great news - Bridge lessons start on Tuesday 17 May at 7pm and run for 10 weeks

Did you know that Cambridge is running a regular Friday night session on RealBridge? As with Monday mornings we will be running a series of month-long Individual sessions with the winner 's Compa$$ account gaining a credit of $10. It is not necessary to play with the same partner. Start time is 7pm and we're generally done by 8:30.

Your committee had a meeting yesterday and the decision has been made to trial reopening

the club for all our regular sessions. Other clubs have continued to play face to face and I

know many of us are missing the social interaction that provides.

This trial will be for a period of four weeks and begins with the Monday am session on

February 14th.

All sessions will move from Real Bridge to the club.

Friday morning practice sessions will recommence next week too with Ayako.

How nice it is that we can enjoy face to face bridge at the club! Our opening night is Wednesday 12th January and to celebrate our return we will provide a glass of wine and cheese & crackers before play. We look forward to a good attendance and an enjoyable evening. A quick reminder of our Covid Rules:

The link will take you to a full description of what it does but, in a nutshell, it is a service that anyone organising a RealBridge session open to outsiders may use. CompassVirtual is really a big Compass Club_in_the_sky - with a Compa$$ module attached. With funds in your CompassVirtual account you can play RealBridge anywhere that opts to use this service.

As previously announced the 2022 subscription levies were struck as at 1-January. Invoices have been emailed: if you didn't get one it means there was sufficient in your Compa$$ account to cover the charge. Thank you to all who topped up their account beforehand as recommended. You can view the current state of your Compa$$ account by logging in to mycompasss.com to check your balance and transactions over any date interval.
