The Snowmen
Winners overall and second in the Best Dressed!
Last night was the final round of the first B2F Teams event held on Monday nights. Ten teams entered and played in a Round Robin tournament playing with a different team member each week.
The theme was A Winter Wonderland. The Snowmen, Kate, Clare, Kevin and Gwyn won 9/9 rounds and took out the competition. In second place with 7 wins were The Icicles, Anna K, Pam and Ian and Peter D.
The Best Dressed Team were the Ice Queens followed by the Snowmen. Great costumes and lots of fun.
The section of the website at www.mycompasss.com that reflects members' Compa$$ table money accounts has been brought up to date. Low-balance alerts have gone out to a few members. One or two deposits were still to be recorded at time of updating so please disregard any notice you may have got if you have made a payment this week.
Congratulations to all eleven to pass New Zealand Bridges' latest Club Directors - our own Clare Coles and Pam Moore included. The test was the first of a new on-line exam. We are so lucky to have two new qualified directors at our club. What a fabulous achievement. Congratulations Pam and Clare.
A fun day and evening was had by members attending both social events held on Thursday.
The afternoon drawn partners bridge session was a great success. Pam Moore did a wonderful job of organising us and trying to keep us all under control!! There was so much laughter and hilarity as we all attempted to win the prizes. Thanks to Pam and all who were there for making the event such fun.
The mid winter dinner was well attended and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. it was a wonderful night.
Cambridge Bridge Club has been the recipient of a generous donation from Margaret who died at the end of last year when she was well into her 90's.
Margaret was an avid member of the club and last played about ten years ago. She loved the game and we will remember her.

Good Luck!!!
After our muddled night on Wednesday we have salvaged some results and created a draw for next week. Phew!!!
We have done the best we can and there are some discrepancies with some scores, due to legibility, time restraints on our part and other anomalies. Please take this into account and try not to analyse the results too closely! Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Thanks to Mike, Jan, Bob Fearn in Seattle and Anna Kalma (who was super special in helping with the manual data entry).
On Tuesday Cambridge was well represented in the Hamilton Ladies Day. There were 5 pairs from Cambridge in the intermediate section and Kate and Gwyn played on the open side of the room. It was a really nice day with a beautiful lunch of ham, potatoes and salads.
Our results were super. Well done to the following players:
13 of our club members went across to the Hamilton Restricted Pairs on Sunday 18 April.
Anne Blewden and Pam Moore had a great day coming first EW in the morning and 4th overall. Liz Clayton and Ian Moore came 2nd in the morning and Don MacPherson and his partner won the tournament.
Bill Bailey who has joined our club this year as an affiliate member came 1st in the Junior/Intermediate section.
We had a very enjoyable day in Hamilton.
