Kevin & Clare come Second in Dan Gifford Final

It's no small honour to reach the final of the annual National Rubber Bridge competition. You must get through four or five matches then the quarter finals and the semis ... it was a long road that ran out on Thursday night. The gods that deal the cards on BBO gave them mostly all to East-West who were Stuart Grant and Tony Quinlivan of Christchurch. It was a bit of a bad dream for our pair who had very little to work with. It took until the 21st board of 30 for them to notch up their first game. Two hands later they had their first rubber.

Te Awamutu Christmas Tournament sparkling fun

Plenty of Cambridge members drove to the town of Roses for the annual festive Christmas bridge where the best tournament meal is enjoyed!

Mike and partner got off to a great start finishing Top of the pops N-S In the morning.

Lynette and Ian came 4th overall

Beth and Kate finished 9th overall.

Allison V and Diane B were the best junior pairing

Congratulations to them all.

Switch from Hello Club to Compa$$

COMPA$$ - A change in how the club manages subs and table money payments.

Our Compass scoring system has an integrated financial system (Compa$$) currently in use by other Compass clubs including our neighbours at Te Awamutu, Hamilton, and Morrinsville. We have made the switch as we no longer need HelloClub to manage payments of table money and subs. From Saturday 14th Nov Compa$$ will be keeping our records of attendance, payments and prizes in a manner similar to Hello Club.

Remembering Iris

ccIt is with sadness that we have farewelled Iris Thomas.

Iris was a life member of our club since 2001.

She loved bridge and contributed greatly to the life of our club.

She was a great partner and opponent who quietly played with determination and cunning. It was always a pleasure to come to  her table!

We will miss her.

Oh Dear! They're Pulling Away From Us in TGBR

Whoops - Tauranga has slipped its cable again by winning the second leg with a similar margin to last week's Great Boat Race victory. Check out this link to Karen Martelletti's analysis on the Tauranga site.

Congratulations to Beth and Barb who are Cambridge's leaders after the two rounds with an average of  62.11%. Overall leaders are Mike and Angela Johnson of Tauranga with an average of 64.90%.
