Club re opens on 21st September

NZ Bridge has let us know that bridge clubs can re open at Level 2 with safety standards in place if they choose.

It is up to each club to decide whether they want to open or not.

Several clubs in our region have re opened.

Your committee met and voted on whether they wished to return during Level 2.  There are many different opinions on what is appropriate during these difficult times. Your committee voted, and while it was not unanimous, the decision was made to to re open the club on the week of the 21st September. After the government announcements on September 14th we hope that it is a level 1 situation but if it isn't the club will re open in level 2 with more safety precautions in place.

It is an individual decision whether you wish to play in Level 2.

At Level 2 our safety precautions are the following

1 If you come to bridge you must be well and have no symptoms of any illness.

2  You must sign in with the covid tracer we will have on site or sign in on the form we will have  available.

3  There will be no refreshments offered or taken.

4  You bring your own pen that travels with you.

5  You bring your own water bottle that travels with you.

6  Only South will handle the bridge mates. East will verbally agree to the score.

7  You will wash your hands or use the hand sanitizer when you change tables.

8  The use of masks is encouraged but not mandatory.

If we don't have many players playing under level 2 we will close again until Level 1.

If it is Level 1 on the 21st September we will have the same precautions as we did last time we were at level 1.  These are not quite so strict.

There will be further communication from us after the announcements on the 14th September.

Keep well and safe.
