Anna and Richard collect their prize

A successful tournament organised by Michael on Sunday, saw some of the countries top players come to Cambridge to participate in a swiss pairs open event. With the cancellation of Congress, some of New Zealand's top players were at a loss what to do. Their bookings and flights were in place to come to the Waikato.  Cambridge rose to the challenge and organised a tournament for them to play in. It is unlikely that we have ever had so many top players in our clubroom before or from so far away. Nick directed and Jan scored. Thank you to everyone who provided morning tea and helped on the day. We thank  Irenee and Julie who ended up playing as the extra pair.  The winning pair were from Invercargil. Bruce Batchelar and Greg Buzzard, with the runner ups from Hamilton. Barry Jones and Jenny Millington. Our own Anna partnered with the famous Richard Soloman came fourth. We hope all enjoyed the bridge and the hospitality.
