Fairlands Shield finds its way…..

back to Cambridge club rooms thanks to some great play by Cambridge club members - and not necessarily who you would pick to do well! The top seven pairs were made up of Cambridge members, headed by Pam Moore and Allison Smith, Mathew and Karen, Beth and Josie.  Also noteworthy is return learner Bernice Q and Tony finishing 6th with nearly 60%. Te Awamutu were as usual, gracious hosts and produced a delicious afternoon tea, which I was looking forward to all afternoon and was not disappointed! The atmosphere was very convivial and a fun time was had by all those who participated. There were also some fascinating boards to mull over afterwards.

While Cambridge won this year, overall it has been fought and won by both clubs a similar number of times. The margin is closing so only a matter of time before Te Awamutu seizes the shield back!
