A huge thank you to everyone involved in the 2025 Cambridge Sixes

Whether you helped for all of the day, part of the day, donated generously to the raffle, baked, made savouries, helped setup or pack up, assisted with the planning of the event or played- or all of the above- the committee wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU.  Without the generosity of the club members, the event would be a shadow of its amazing self.  There is simply no other tournament like it in terms of its offerings: great bridge, fabulous food all day, tantalising trivia, unbeatable raffle and dastardly dressup!

As a result of all your hard work, we have a surplus of about $2000 thanks to AFT sponsorship of around $1300 and the raffle which took over $1600.  So while our team numbers were down a bit, overall profit was up.  This money will be earmarked to come back to members, maybe at next year’s golden anniversary of the club? 

AFT was extremely generous to our club sending players home with a goodie bag as well.  I loved its new poster promoting its Maxigesic product Bridging the gap in terms of what you can and cannot do.  

If you have any feedback on how we can make the day even better, please let Allison Vince (CB6s coordinator) know. During this last year, another club asked for more notice on the dressup theme so this year we delivered on that, announcing it will be based on superstition given it is the event’s 13th year. 

So thank you one and all.  What an amazing effort! I always feel so proud to be a member of our club but most especially on days like yesterday.
