Cambridge Sixes Results Revised
On behalf of Cambridge Bridge club, I am extremely sorry that we are announcing a change in the results of the Cambridge Sixes. This is the first time in its history that I can recall this has been necessary. The adjustment has occurred due to the players at one table sitting in the wrong directions for the first round of the day. The flow-on effect on the Compass scoring system of having these two pair numbers crossing over in subsequent rounds has resulted in changes to the finishing positions of six teams - four of them by only a place or two and none of them in the top four.
Major disruptions to the finishing places of the teams concerned have resulted in one of them dropping from 5th to 17th and the other rising from 18th to 7th. Scorer Jan Spaans and Compass author Bob Fearn have spent hours untangling the data - a huge vote of thanks is owing to them for resolving the conundrum.
Although the corrected round results have been republished it has not been possible to do so with the Teams Overall result. This is available in Excel form if you click here.
Once again, we are very sorry for any upset caused due to these scoring changes.
