Cambridge Junior Pairs Success

On Saturday we hosted the Cambridge Junior Pairs which is part of the Waikato Bays Junior League. We had players from 12 different clubs and that included 11 novices. We were also able to be host to 6 players who played in a tournament for the first time.

We had a very successful day with a smaller than usual turnout of only 10 tables, but all of whom were appreciative of a great day of bridge. We had a lot of compliments on the organisation and the food. Thank you to everyone who provided morning or afternoon tea. Thank you to Sue Aitken and Philippa Baker who served in the kitchen in the morning. Thanks also to Allison Vince and Louise for their fine effort with providing the best rolls ever at lunchtime! And to Beth for tending the bar and working to tidy up at the end of the day. Thanks to Dave Sargeant and Les Simpson who turned up ready to play as a spare pair but ended up going home. What a team you all were!

Congratulations must go to Sue McKenzie and Sandra Gissing for winning the tournament. They played superbly.
