Barbara Smythe

It is with great sorrow I inform you of the death of Barbara Smythe.

Barbara had not been well for the last few weeks but her last game of Bridge on Wednesday night was superb resulting in a 76% win with her partner and friend Eileen.

She was a keen sportswoman; passionate about golf and tennis and she achieved a great deal of success in both of these . She often spent the night watching tennis tournaments.

Barbara taught at Karapiro school for many years before retirement.

She was a quiet helper at the bridge club arriving early to make sure the kitchen was set up and ever so willing to help in any way.

Barbara will be sadly missed as a kind and caring person; humble and with a great sense of humour.
