Whatever the weather Bridge Lessons promo played on

A stalwart group of members took to the streets on Saturday to promote Bridge and encourage people to come to our Bridge Lessons.

Starting off with warm fine weather at 8am at the Farmers' Market were Allison, Barb, Ian and Pam M. Pam and Anna did a fantastic job of organising the event and Anna had set up all the tables and paraphernalia required to make this event happen.

But they couldn't control the weather!!!

The rest of the team arrived to start playing at 10am and the weather had remained warm and sunny. About the time for the first table shift the skies opened and the torrential rain was supported by a fierce wind which seriously challenged the playing conditions. Just as quickly as it had come it went, but only to return in greater force about half an hour later - just in time for the next move. This time the weather won and we had to pack up and head to the Good George for the after match catch up, with a good list of possibilities for lessons.

Thanks to the members below who enjoyed participating, played some fun bridge and spoke to many people encouraging them to join and play Bridge. (Despite Michael's attempt results were not relevant as the weather had taken control of the games making nonsense of the results.) Nandy, Michael, Pam L and Sue L, Ayako, Vicki, Sara, Ingrid, Ailsa, Jan W, Ian M, Allison V, Sue K, Brian, Pam M, Barb W, Josie, Sue A, Bill B, Kim, Jan W, Ailsa, the 2 Pauls plus Allison and Malcolm S.

The Club much appreciates the willingness of the following venues to host us :

  •  Robert Harris
  • DayDream Cafe
  • Deli on the Corner
  • Cambridge Library (not surprisingly those who played there stayed dry! )

Finally a very special acknowledgement of all the work Anna and Pam, helped by Kim, put in to organise this event.
