Cambridge Success at Hamilton Ladies – Anne and Liz winners

Cambridge was well represented at Hamilton’s annual women’s tournament on Tuesday with one third of the Intermediate section players coming from Cambridge.  We were all delighted when Helen Hicks and Margaret Oliver got a morning session prize and then even more thrilled to find that Anne and Liz, who were second in their section in the morning, had come first in the afternoon session and were overall winners with an average of 61.06, well ahead of the second pair on 57.1.

Anne and Liz enjoy being the Ladies of Hamilton!

Huge congratulations to Liz and Anne winning the Intermediate Ladies Day in Hamilton. In a larger field than the Open Section, they finished strong with a big 65% score in the afternoon. Well done to them!

Also bringing home a session prize in this field were Helen Hicks and Margaret Oliver for their morning session of 56.67%. Finishing in the top 10 were Vicki and Gail, also on form.

In the Open section, Lynette Morgan won top prize along with Sonia Crawford. Also in the running in 5th place were Jane and Di.

HelloClub!!

The future of bridge has arrived. Cambridge becomes the first bridge club in the country to dispense with table money. It's such a cool system that we expect many others will follow once they hear of it.

Just as at the library or on an automated toll road members need pay no money when they come to play. Our clever scoring program knows who's been playing and will pass the charges on to HelloClub. Not only that but prize winners and directors will have their accounts credited with a free game.

Junior tournament success

A fun day was had on Saturday for the Junior tournament. There were 10 tables with juniors coming from all over the Waikato bays district. With Michael directing and scoring the day ran smoothly with 22 boards played in the morning and in the afternoon. There was a relaxed and friendly feel to the room with lots of smiles and positivity.

There were quite a few novices playing and they all played the whole day.

The feed back from participants as they left, was the usual thanks for the great food and the smooth running of the day.
