Wonderful to see Dayelle and Ruth take Silver in the Hamilton Intermediate today. Congratulations to them! They won the morning session and did enough in the second one, only squeezed by 0.6% from first position in the standings.

Congratulations to Eunice and Malcolm who won the Tauranga Intermediate tournament today taking them to the top of the Intermediate league after 4 rounds. As noted below, this is well deserved with both taking every opportunity to develop their game.
The Bridge Zone is a half-hour slot on topical bridge news hosted by Barry Jones and Mereana Cullen of Hamilton Bridge Club.
Free FM, the community radio, is broadcasting on 89FM and the show will go out twice a week - Wednesdays at 10.30am and repeated Thursdays at 6.30am. The live show will only stretch around the Waikato as the volunteers undertaking the work are based in Hamilton so have learnt to put a radio show together and broadcast there.
Just letting you know that our NEW Tuesday evening session has started! Our new learners will be playing at this time rather than coming along on a Wednesday night initially.
If you would like a chance to play some bridge in a relaxed atmosphere, please do come along! There will be a member available to play with anyone who does not have a partner so all you need to do is to pitch up at 7 on any Tuesday between now and the end of November.
From July, there will be a bridge tip presented at 7pm. This will either be a bidding recap or a card play tip.

This weekend is the National Swiss pair event where 58 pairs are slogging it out. This is right up there in terms of high standard and our Michael, who is playing with the charming rogue Malcolm Smith, is sitting in third place after 5 rounds. GO MICHAEL AND MALCOLM!
Every year, Cambridge puts its best foot forward to try and win the Waikato Interclub prize. Failing that to get into the top three teams in the respective sections of Open, Intermediate and Junior to play later in the year in Cambridge on 26 August.
This year, the competition is on Sunday 24 June and our club will be represented by:
