Beth and Josie win Cambridge's Intermediate tournament
On Sunday Beth Kingsley and Josie van Weerd won our Intermediate tournament. Many congratulations to them. A 70 percent score in the afternoon clinched the win for them!

After winning the Waikato bays Rubber bridge final Clare and Kevin then moved on to the national competition. They faced off against the Pair from Otago/Southland in the Rubber bridge national quarter final. With congress cancelled they had to play the match on BBO with Michael officiating.
During the second lockdown Reg Anderson sadly died. He was a long standing and important member of our club who contributed hugely to the life of our club. Reg was President in 2006 and 2007. We are grateful for his contributions. He will be missed.
On the 21st September, hopefully at level 1, the club will reopen.
Monday mornings will have two fun covid sessions before starting their October series handicapped.
Monday evenings will have two fun sessions before starting the Lilies By Blewden series.
Wednesday evening will have one fun covid session before starting the Cambridge dry cleaners individuals series.
Thursday afternoon will go straight into Lipo-Vitamin C Individuals Handicapped.
Fridays can operate as usual.
If we are at Level 1 safety precautions will still continue.
NZ Bridge has let us know that bridge clubs can re open at Level 2 with safety standards in place if they choose.
It is up to each club to decide whether they want to open or not.
Several clubs in our region have re opened.
It was lovely to see 12 tables of Junior members and their partners on Sunday afternoon.
We played Bringo and answered Clare's bridge questions for fun spot prizes.

Sunday 1pm 26 July is our fun junior restricted afternoon.
A junior player can enter with another junior or intermediate or open player. if you are an intermediate or Open player this is a chance for you to support our junior members.
This is open to members of our neighbouring clubs also and there is no charge to enter.
Enter online at the NZ bridge website or contact Sue Mckenzie our tournament secretary.
Can one Cambridge member of each pair bring a plate for afternoon tea please.
