Great results from NZ Wide Pairs

Fantastic success for Josie and Don at the NZ wide pairs held on Friday 11 November.   With the adjusted total of 67.67 they were 7th overall and top Intd/Intd pair.  A great result for them

Kate and Gwyn also did really well coming 20th overall and the 8th Open/Open pair with 65.89.

All who played enjoyed their night and the pizza and ice cream slices organised by Michael (who sadly couldn't attend having finally fallen prey to Covid)

Happy Birthday Pam

Pam L On Thursday 3 November we enjoyed sharing Birthday cake with Pam for her 81st Birthday.  Unfortunately we had missed her 80th last year but so pleased we could share this one with her.

Cambridge Sixes Another HUGE Success

It's all over for another year. Cambridge turned on the usual Best Tournament in the Country last Saturday. Indeed - with the extremely generous sample packs from our sponsor AFT Pharmaceuticals this event must surely be the only one ever to have paid everyone to attend! A big thank you to Irenee for organising such a marvellous windfall.

Cambridge retains Fairlands Trophy

Today we welcomed 12 pairs from Te Awamutu who braved the weather to come to Cambridge and compete for the Fairlands Trophy, an annual event named after an apple orchard in TA (no longer there) who donated the shield. It was good to see some of older friends but also newer members from the TA club and to have time to chat with them over afternoon tea once play had finished

After playing 24 boards Cambridge members had played well enough to retain the shield.

Beginners lessons

We had a great turnout for the first of the beginners lessons last night.

22 people have expressed an interest in learning the game we love and 18 enthusiastic learners made a start.

Thanks to Kim and Sue and all the helpers who made the night such a success.

Don't forget the improver lessons with Clare and Kate continue on Thursday night at 7pm.

Hope to see you there
